    Gives students opportunity to utilize and synthesize the basic concepts of professional nursing. Includes intensive clinical experience that allows students to become socialized into a health care delivery system, gain confidence in performing motor skills in a variety of situations, practice critical thinking in making ethical and clinical decisions, and develop leadership in providing nursing care. Offered S/U only. Prerequisites: BSN - all required courses in the nursing major; RN/BSN - PHCY 4450 and 4470; NURS 3010, 3020, 3040, 3630, 4150; NURS 4240, 4250 or concurrent enrollment.

    A precepted capstone clinical course that assists students in synthesizing basic concepts of professional nursing. Learning experiences allow students to gain confidence, practice clinical reasoning and leadership skills, communicate effectively with the interprofessional team, apply ethical decision making skills and develop evidence-based practice. Prerequisites: All required courses in the nursing major.

    Students utilize and synthesize basic concepts of professional nursing practice. The course socializes students into a healthcare system. Learning experiences allow students to gain confidence in managing patient care, practicing critical thinking, developing leadership and advocacy skills, and exploring ethical decision-making in clinical situations. Prerequisites: NURS 4695 and completion or concurrent enrollment with NURS 4865.

    Focuses on the physical and psychological health of women and children as influenced by war. Beginning with an examination of feminist theory related to sexism, war and peace politics; the course then examines effects of living in war zones or conditions of threatened war. The socioeconomic consequences of military spending, including health care delivery problems, are evaluated. Cross listed with INST/WMST 4920.     Explores women's physiologic and psychologic development and the influences of patriarchal society upon the interpretation of what constitutes normalcy across the female life cycle. Analyzes historical, cultural and contemporary attitudes of the health care system and women's perspectives on menstruation, childbearing, breastfeeding and menopause. Cross listed with WMST 4960.
