    Students continue to correlate theory to practice in an actual surgical setting. Students apply previously learned foundational information and hands-on skills as they perform in the first scrub role in more complex surgical procedures under the supervision of clinical site preceptors. An emphasis is placed on competence in more complicated surgical procedures as available. Students continue to rotate through various surgical specialties at multiple clinical sites. Students research the history and development of the profession of surgical technology and evaluate various education models. Students utilize their professional practice experience to build a predictive model of the future of surgical technology education, clinical practice, and career advancement.     This course is designed for students studying in programs such as Health Sciences, Human & Public Service, Business, and Agriculture who are interested in strengthening their "soft skills" in empathy, collaboration, creativity, and communication. Students will use theatrical literature and performances to examine, discover, and explore human emotions, relationships, and motivations. The processes involved, and the strategies and conventions used, aid students to become more socially competent. Students read and debate theatrical literature, as well as devise original plays to explore the intricacies and contradictions of human behavior.
