First of a two-course sequence constituting a capstone design experience for mechanical engineering students. Students prepare a project proposal, examine ideation strategies, and generate a morphological study of their design culminating in selection of the final design approach. An introduction to current engineering design tools and project management methods is also presented. Prerequisites: ME 3170 and 3360 or concurrent enrollment.
