This course provides a basic introduction to diesel engine design, theory, operation, and service procedures. Students demonstrate precision measuring, engine disassembly and reassembly, diagnosis of engine problems, and parts analysis. Students will perform tasks related to general diesel engines, the cylinder head and valve train, the engine block, lubrication system, cooling system, air induction and exhaust systems.?Students work towards completing ASE task list for Truck Service Technology (TST) for Diesel Engines.
