In this course students will think about thinking and learn about learning. It is designed to introduce students to the structure and function of key components of the nervous system. Specifically, we will explore how the nervous system functions to learn and retain knowledge presented in college level courses. Students who take this course will learn how to answer exam questions from a range of formats, including multiple choice and essay questions. This knowledge can be applied to any courses taken throughout the student's academic career. As part of the required first year seminar (FYS) research component, students in this course will learn how to conduct original research and write reports on their finding, a useful skill component used for biology, chemistry, physics, and all other science courses.
