Utilization of psychotherapy frameworks in the care of individuals, families, and groups. Emphasizing the counseling role and skill development of the advanced practice mental health nurse in the assessment, intervention and evaluation of diverse populations a cross the lifespan. Issues of ethics, rural practice, and diversity are addressed throughout the course. Prerequisites: Admission to the Doctor of Nursing Practice Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) concentration and successful progression in the PMHNP program of study.
