Emphasizing the counseling role and skill development of the advanced practice mental health nurse in the assessment, intervention and evaluation of diverse populations a cross the lifespan. Issues of ethics, rural practice, and diversity are addressed throughout the course. Prerequisites: Admission to the Doctor of Nursing Practice Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) concentration and successful progression in the PMHNP program of study.
