An introduction to the culture, history and politics of Latin America, from the US/Mexico border to the Antarctic ice fields of Patagonia. We will consider historical events and encounters from pre-Conquest times to contemporary crises. Our toolkit includes geography, anthropology, history, political economy, literature, and cultural studies. Prerequisites: none.
