Coaches must be effective teachers, trainers, fund-raisers, recruiters, motivators, administrators, and counselors. The major purpose of this course is to provide future coaches with current information about the eight domains of essential coaching skills identified in the NSSC. These domains include philosophy and ethics, safety and injury prevention, physical conditioning, growth and development, teaching and communication, sport skills and tactics, organization and administration, and evaluation. Dual listed with KIN 4090. Prerequisite: Graduate status in KIN or permission of instructor.
