Examines the development of gender roles and sex differences. Incorporates developmental, clinical and social psychological perspectives. Includes examination of biological, social and cultural factors on gender development; conceptualizations of masculinity, femininity and androgyny; differences in play behavior in boys and girls; evaluation of psychological measurement and research regarding gender development and sex differences. Cross listed with WMST 3300. Prerequisite: 2300 or 4300.
