Teaches foundational electrocardiography to perform graded exercise stress tests (GXT), performance of GXT's to healthy and diseased populations based on a health appraisal assessment. Knowledge used to develop comprehensive exercise prescriptions, make metabolic calculations. Emphasis on how physical activity, nutrition/weight management, and behavioral factors interact with exercise programming. Student must have CPR/AED/1st Aid certification prior to first day of class. Dual listed with KIN 5056. Prerequisites: C or better inKIN 3021 and KIN 3010; graduate standing in KIN; or permission of instructor.
